Get off your high horse and get dirty.

As you all obviously know, I harass people on social media. Last year before the 2021 election, I was going back and forth with Assemblyman Auth on Twitter, giving him a hard time, and he sent me his number, so I called him… because I have no problem harassing people in real life either. However, I didn’t do any harassing that phone call, the Assemblyman did the talking and I did the listening. His ideas were brilliant and as soon as he said it I knew what to do.

“MAIL-IN BALLOTS. That’s how they win and that’s how you win.”

Brilliant. 

In 2021 I desperately wanted the mask off my senior in high school, and I was willing to do ANYTHING to do it and listen to any idea. Assemblyman Auth told me that the Republicans in New Jersey, would have been willing to stop Murphy from being a tyrant, but there’s only one problem, they didn’t have a enough of the people in the Senate or Assembly. The Democrats have the majority and they vote lock step with leadership and never compromise, because they don’t have to.

The Democrats will NEVER vote the way that I want, or the way most parents in New Jersey want because they don’t take us seriously as a voter block that they have to cater to. 

The bigger problem is, Republicans don’t come out in person to vote in the off-year NJ elections, they stay home. If we got the parent base to get politicians into office, BOTH PARTIES would certainly focus on parental rights and allowing parents to make the best decisions for our kids, instead of the state.

Republicans are in the minority in both the New Jersey Senate (24:16) and New Jersey Assembly(46:34). In 2021 Republicans flipped 7 seats in the the NJ Democratic controlled legislature. Lets flip more seats in 2023 so we get what we want by picking winning strategies.

Now if you already plan to vote in 2023 then this message isn’t for you. But if you know someone who probably won’t vote, try to encourage this idea, its a lot easier than shaming people into voting. 

Many Republicans want to demonize vote-by-mail. They want to win the “RIGHT” way. I hate to break it to you, but you are in no position to make demands. The Democrats won’t give this to you and the Republicans are in no place to give that to you either. You can keep on complaining about “the way it should be” and expect things to change, but they won’t.

But the situation is not desperate. When things aren’t going your way and you are trying to pull, but no matter how hard you pull it won’t move, change your strategy, lean into it.

I believe in this idea. Its a winning idea. The first thing I did when my kid turned 18 was sign her up for Vote-By-Mail.
