CLOSED State BOE Meetings

The NJ State Board of Ed, you know, that lovely group of people responsible for the new NJ health standards, is still holding closed meetings due to the ‘ongoing public health concerns’.

The problem with this, besides it being an absolutely ridiculous excuse, is that the ability of the public to attend and comment is restricted.

If you want to comment, you have to send an email or mail a letter.

Rumor has it that next Wednesday, at the December 7th meeting, the State BOE is going to introduce the idea of REMOVING a school’s ability to separate students by gender for health education topics. Instead, they will require that schools allow for those of a gender identity to be together or perhaps they won’t allow for any separation of the sexes at all.

This would mean that instead of all the boys going to one room to learn about wet dreams and all the girls going to another room to learn about menstruation, they might all be learning it all together.

Stay tuned for what actually happens at this meeting…

The agenda for the meeting has not been released yet but you can subscribe to State BOE agendas here. The next is expected for Friday.

To add insult to injury, next year Murphy is replacing anyone who dared oppose him and his DOE. Three State Board members who voted against the sex standards are being replaced with more Murphy picks.

“Murphy’s three nominees would take the seats of Mary Elizabeth Gazi, Mary Beth Berry, and Andrew Mulvihill.   All three voted against the new sex education standards proposed by the state Department of Education and sought a reappraisal of sections that included controversial and graphic language.”

So much for the State Board being non-partisan…
