Something has gone wrong in New Jersey Schools.
Before the pandemic, during September 2019 enrollment, a total of 16 kids in the entire state identified as “non-binary”. As of September 2022, this school year, the number of total non-binary students has increased to 675 kids. That is a 4119% change from baseline increase in 4 years. This data directly comes from the state website in the form of “enrollment reports”.
This isn’t even counting the number of kids who switched genders. The kids in these graphs insist that they are NOTHING. Not a boy. Not a girl.
Google says “Non-binary is a term that refers to any gender identity that isn’t male or female. Androgynous refers to an outward appearance of indeterminate gender. While some non-binary people may express themselves androgynously, it is a personal choice that is not a requirement of non-binary gender identity.”
Confused yet?
How could anyone believe that this is NOT a social contagion accelerated by the torture that these kids went through during the pandemic? Kids lost their identity when they were forced to be faceless for 2 years. They didn’t get a chance to properly develop because they couldn’t interact with their peers. Now they feel empty, with a loss of interpersonal and social skills that comes with a loss of identity. Kids are looking for a sense of self, so they fall right into the trend of being genderless.
Not to mention, some parents went bonkers and are not thinking clearly. There are at least 41 kids in pre-k through elementary school that “identify” as non-binary. That’s like a vegan cat… we all know who’s making the lifestyle choices here.
Critics will say that the increase is due to kids feeling more open to “come out”. Yes, I’m sure those 8 pre-schoolers who now identify as non-binary are certainly are more willing to exercise their “gender expression” today than they could 4 years ago… when they were in the womb. 🥴
Just because kids prefer an androgynous outfit and prefer to play with a variety of toys, traditionally separated out by gender, doesn’t mean that they are no longer a boy or a girl. Just because the kid’s personality does not align with how you think a certain gender should behave, doesn’t mean the kid needs to pick a different identity to fit in the sexist boxes that YOU created. That’s completely insane. Why is everyone so quick to label these kids when they could change their mind at any time in their life?
Any parenting book will tell you “labeling” your child is a bad idea. “The way parents (or other adults) label a child can have a lasting impact on how that child thinks of him or herself. When a child has been labeled, that label will become a part of his or her identity. Labels often do more damage than good by putting children in boxes.” It’s like a self-fulling prophecy, you limit your child’s growth when you throw labels on them because they’ll believe that’s who they really are and they can never change. Even labeling children with positive attributes can be damaging. You want to label the “BEHAVIOR” or “FEELINGS” your child is demonstrating, not the child.
Critics will also say, “You label them when you call them a boy or a girl.”
Nonsense.
THEY ARE A BOY OR A GIRL.
Girls are born with all the parts that gives them the potential to have babies. NOT BOYS. There are other various differences between the 2 genders besides the reproductive system and hormones, like muscle mass, potential diseases, skeletal shape, and other physical attributes.
Personality, temperament and interests are on a sliding scale for males and females, that should NOT be the deciding factor for your gender. There are too many attributes and internal feelings that go inside each individual to allow them to decide if they are a girl or a boy. Basically, if you can’t even define the feeling of being a girl then how do you know you are one?
Again, we aren’t even talking about that. We are talking about kids who decided they were nothing.
The below figure is broken out by prek-5, 5-8 and 9-12. Look at how highschool students more than doubled in their non-binary identification from September 2021 to September 2022. This clearly indicates to me that this is a social contagion like cutting, anorexia and drug/alcohol use. High school kids are non-binary because their friends are non-binary. Elementary school kids are non-binary because their parents influenced their decision.
If only the schools would release how many kids switched genders in a given year, then we would really see how bad the culture in New Jersey is affecting these kids.
Since gender identity is now written into the curriculum for all kids this year, it will be interesting to see how this affects the numbers in the upcoming come September.
